If you do choose to use a blanket it is crucial that you follow SIDs and KIDs guidelines in relation to using blankets in the cot:
It's recommended that you follow First Candle guidelines in relation to using blankets in a crib. Do not put anything soft, loose or fluffy in your baby's sleep space. This includes pillows, blankets, comforters, soft or pillow-like bumpers, stuffed animals and other soft items. Use a sleep sack or other type sleeper instead of blankets to keep your baby warm and safe.

Little Roo stocks a wide range of Love To Dream Swaddles in Switzerland and it is important to refer to the clothing guide and be conscious of your baby's room temperature and clothing. Overheating has been linked to SIDS so it is very important to ensure your baby does not overheat.
The Love To Dream SWADDLE UPâ„¢ has been designed to eliminate multiple layers of wrapping.
The table below provides you with guidelines* around how to dress your baby based on the room temperature adn type of Love To Dream swaddle being worn.
Please note: It is really important that you take into account all external factors when determining how to dress your baby, including the type of clothing that the baby has on, the babies general health and wellbeing, the temperature of the baby’s bedroom and if this may change throughout the night or day. All these factors may vary in the same way as it does for adults.
The table provided should be used as a guide only & the carer needs to use their own discretion when dressing their baby for sleep time.
Irrespective of which swaddling method you use, you must stop swaddling your baby as soon as he or she starts to show signs of being able to roll over independently. At this time, you must transition your baby out of swaddling into 'arms-free' sleeping.
Your baby's arms should not be restricted when they are able to roll over - this advice is the same for any form of swaddling you may be using. Around this time, you baby's startle reflex should have diminished.
The Love To Dream SWADDLE UPâ„¢ TRANSITION BAG/SUIT is a great way to prepare your baby for the transition from being swaddled to 'arms-free' independent sleep. Little Roo stocks the Love To Dream Swaddle Transition Bags in Switzerland.

The merino is one of the world's oldest breed of sheep, originating in Spain in the 12th century, it is now most at home in the extreme environments of New Zealand and Australia. Unlike regular coarse wool sheep who graze in the flat lowlands, the merino has evolved to survive the scorching summers and freezing winters of New Zealand’s rugged Southern Alps range and outback Australia.
Merino wool is composed of a natural protein that is biodegradable, similar to the protein found in human hair. When disposed of, Merino wool decomposes in soil in a matter of years, slowly releasing valuable nitrogen-based nutrients back into the earth, acting like a fertiliser. In contrast, synthetic fibres can be extremely slow to degrade.
The merino sheep produce a new fleece naturally every year and the farmers shear the sheep only in the summer to ensure the animals comfort, hygiene and mobility. The wool is ethically sourced and 100% made from nature.
IT'S NATURES WONDER FIBRE
The merino sheep can survive these extremes because of the incredible natural engineering of their fleece. Super lightweight and breathable, the merino’s summer coat keeps cool in temperatures of up to +30°C. In winter, the merino grows an extra layer of wool over their base coat to protect them against temperatures that plummet to -10°C.
Merino Kids' superfine merino is sourced from New Zealand and Australian farms through Woolmark accredited farmers who meet the highest on-farm standards. This provides customers with certainty that product quality, animal welfare and health, environmental, economic and social values are positively addressed. Merino Kids' merino growers pride themselves on their best practices to ensure the highest on-farm standards with respect to animal welfare, farming practices, and environmental management.
Maintaining high animal welfare standards is an essential part of Merino Kids values and as a company they believe in best farm practice (non mulesed) and the use of ‘ethical wool’. For this reason they seek to develop relationships with farmers who share our core values. Merino Kids use superfine merino wool that is sourced from sheep that have not been mulesed. New Zealand-grown merino sheep are reared and run on high ground, where fly strike isn’t an issue, so the practice of mulesing is not a problem in New Zealand.
In Australia they source wool from Bally Glunin Park which has received many awards for its approach to animal welfare and land management. Merino Kids is proud to partner with The Woolmark Company.
Superfine merino naturally regulates body temperature. It breathes, and removes any moisture away from your baby's skin, releasing it into the atmosphere. Synthetic fibres do not have this ability, and trap moisture next to baby's skin, creating a chill zone. See our temperature guide for more details.
Superfine merino can help REDUCE ECZEMA because of its ability to readily release moisture means NO CLAMMINESS next to the skin, creating a perfect micro-climate around the body. The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute have conducted a clinical trial where researchers found when children switched to superfine merino wool after wearing cotton, they showed a significant decrease in eczema severity whereas eczema worsened when those wore superfine merino wool changed to cotton.
This is to ensure air circulation, Babies sleeping under traditional blankets rarely sleep with their arms inside the covers. We recommend layering garments to ensure your child is perfectly adapted to their environment. The best way to measure your babies temperature is to check behind their neck. So long as their core temperature is okay, arms and hands can be cooler due to poor circulation in the first 12 months.
Adjust zip closed before you machine wash on wool cycle, 30 degrees celcius max
Only use wool approved washing liquid e.g. ecostore wool and delicates
DO NOT TUMBLE DRY, SOAK, USE POWDERS, HOT WATER, SOAPS, FABRIC SOFTENER, SPOT CLEAN OR BLEACH
If handwashing use lukewarm water to massage your Go Go Bag or Cocooi garment. Rinse thoroughly. Remove excess water by rolling in a towel. Do not wring. Dry flat away from direct sunlight
Your Go Go Bag may be dry cleaned
OTHER CARE TIPS Pilling - How to prevent it and how to treat it Pilling is a natural process that is inherent in merino fabric due to the fact that merino is a staple fiber. Generally if pilling occurs, it’s because the shorter fibers are working their way to the surface of the fabric. The best way to avoid pilling is to wash a new Merino Kids after the first couple of wears. To alleviate the pilling, we suggest that you wash the garment with a coarser fabric such as denim jeans (ensure all zippers are closed). The fabric will improve over time as the shorter fibers are removed.
Do I need to wash before use? We do not use any nasty chemicals in our manufacturing process and all our garments are pre-washed so there is no need to wash our garments before use... but you are more than welcome to! Garments and odour: Merino fibers have the characteristic of drawing moisture away from the body and either absorbing or releasing this moisture, which eliminates clamminess and ensures that the garments remain odour-free. The fibers work this way in our garments the same as they do in the sheep that supply our Merino. We strongly recommend that our customers only wash their garments on a wool/delicates, cool or warm (30oC) wash cycle with wool liquid wash. Hand washing can enable a residual build-up of odour.
The Go Go Bag is an international award-winning baby sleep bag which is designed with the safety and comfort of your baby in mind. It is specifically for babies and toddlers and uses only 100% natural fibres – 100% superfine merino wool & 100% certified organic cotton.
It can be taken anywhere, allowing your child to be easily transferred from a car seat or buggy into their cot or bed. It is safe for your child and amazingly practical. A popular alternative to sheets & blankets, the Go Go Bag has passed vigorous fire safety tests and is labelled LOW FIRE RISK.
Merino Kids use only the very best superfine merino in all Go Go Bags. It is 100% SUPERFINE MERINO and NOT BLENDED with cotton or any other fabrics. This means it is the best at regulating your baby's temperature. As soon as you blend the merino with anything else, it reduces its ability to regulate temperature.
The lining is 100% superfine merino is so it's as close to your baby's skin as possible (if not against baby's skin) again so it can REGULATE BABY'S TEMPERATURE. If you have cotton lining with a merino outer, the merino won't regulate your baby's temperature, it just acts as a blanket and your baby can still wake up cold.
The outer layer of the Go Go Bag is 100% GOTS certified organic cotton to act as an insulating layer (much like putting a blanket over baby) and to provide durability. Because merino is such a delicate, soft fibre, if a baby was to walk around in their Go Go Bag, the cotton prevents them from wearing it through allowing the Go Go Bag to LAST A LIFETIME!
THE GO GO BAG HAS MANY DESIGN BENEFITS INCLUDING:
Prevents your baby from waking after wriggling out of their blankets
Keeps your baby at a safe and comfortable temperature throughout the night
Babies associate their Go Go Bag with sleep so will settle more easily in unfamiliar surroundings
Perfect for children with allergies, eczema and sensitive skin due to merino being super soft, natural and breathable
Promotes healthy hip development and is certified as a Hip-healthy product by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute
Patented seatbelt vent for ease of use in a carseat or buggy when you are out and about
Heavy duty YKK zip opens from the bottom allowing for an easy nappy change without taking the bag off
Underarm domes (poppers) to adjust the size for smaller babies
Double domes (poppers) on one shoulder to help prevent Houdini babies escaping as they get older
Machine washable. Merino also naturally repels odour so you can air out between washes and it 'self cleans' meaning you only need to wash it when it's soiled.
Naturally LOW FIRE DANGER
Baby sleep bags are designed to provide comfort and warmth without the need for additional bedding e.g. top sheets, blankets, duvets.
As there are no sheets or blankets to kick off while your baby is in their baby sleep bag, your baby won’t wake up cold
As your baby stays a regulated temperature all night, your baby is not likely to wake from the cold (check out our temperature guide for clothing suggestions)
A baby sleep bag promotes safe sleeping as there are no top sheets or blankets to wriggle under with the threat of suffocation.
The baby sleep bag can prevent your baby’s feet from becoming stuck between cot bars
It aids the transition from bassinet to a cot, and cot to bed, as the baby sleep bag is associated with sleep. This association will also help give your baby a strong cue that it is bedtime and helps set their routine
You can take your baby sleep bag on holiday, to visit family and friends or simply out to the supermarket and still keep your baby in a safe and familiar environment
Our baby sleep bags have a patented travel vent making it very easy to move from a car-seat or buggy to the bassinet, cot or bed, helping baby with a regular sleeping routine. If you choose to use the Go Go Bag in the car-seat, please ensure you are following the manufacturers guide lines for fastening the belt (think of the Go Go Bag as an extra clothing layer)
And of course... they are cost effective! If you use traditional bedding; sheets, blankets etc. you could end up spending approx. $800 (Based on sourcing natural bedding; cotton and merino, for the first two years)

Little Roo stocks a wide range of Love To Dream Swaddles and sleep suits in Switzerland, each with different TOG ratings. A TOG is a unit of measurement for insulation and warmth of sleepwear and bedding. Put simply, the lower the TOG rating, the lighter the fabric. The higher the rating, the more padded and insulated it is.
You would choose a suitable TOG based on the temperature of the room your baby is sleeping in. Our TOGs are suitable for the below room temperatures:
0.2 and 0.3 TOG = 24 degrees Cº+
1.0 TOG = 21 degrees Cº – 24 degrees Cº
2.5 TOG = 17 degrees Cº – 23 degrees Cº
3.5 TOG = 14 degrees Cº – 21 degrees Cº

It is recommended by safe sleep guidelines to sleep your baby with their face and head uncovered, free from bedding, pillows and toys. It is for this reason our swaddles, sleeping bags and sleep suits bags are designed to replace bedding altogether.
To ensure the face is always clear, ergoPouch bags are designed to avoid unravelling, have suitable armholes and a fitted neck. It’s for the same reason there are no hoods on our bags.
Safety is at the forefront of mind when designing an ergoPouch product. All ergoPouch sleepwear go through product safety standard testing as required by Australian law and products are designed for safe sleeping according to Australian SIDs guidelines. We ask for your support to double check your ergoPouch purchase is suitable for your child before use.
In the early days after birth, a newborn will experience startle reflex that can often wake or unsettle them so using a swaddle can contain this sudden movement. Swaddling soothes and settles them to sleep by providing a feeling of containment, similar to their experience in the confined space of a womb. It also has the following benefits:
- Keeping baby’s body warm in the early stages when their ability to regulate body temperature is still developing.
- A hug! A baby would love to spend the whole night bundled up in their parent’s warm arms so swaddles help create that sensation of being hugged.
- Can help a baby focus on breastfeeding by keeping their arms and legs out of the way.
- Prevents baby from scratching themselves with their nails.
- Swaddling = a longer sleep for everyone!
To comply with safety requirements, the Cocoon Swaddle Bags have a firm fit around the neck, shoulder and chest area to prevent your little one from slipping inside.
A quick way to check if the neck is too tight is to see if you can put 2 fingers inside the neck opening. If you can, the fit is correct. If you are still uncomfortable with the opening being small, we suggest to undo the zipper about 1cm down with the zip cover still over the top.
Sleeping with natural fibres can help your baby get a better night's sleep. Natural fibres disperse moisture from the skin, providing an even warmth and body temperature. ergoPouch sleeping bags are all highly breathable, keeping babies consistently warm without overheating. Synthetic fillings such as polyester do not have the same qualities and can lead to temperature variations throughout the night. They can also trap too much heat, which can be a particular problem for babies with eczema as this will aggravate the condition.
For best fit result please select your Love To Dream Swaddle uP sizing according to your child's weight not their age. The Love To Dream Swaddle UP range is available in four sizes: Newborn (suitable for 2.2-3.8kg), Small (suitable for 3.5-6kg), Medium (suitable for 6-8.5kg) & Large (suitable for 8.5-11kg).
As tempting as it might be to buy a bigger size, unfortunately the answer is no. It is very important that you always purchase the correct size Love To Dream Swaddle UP for your baby, based on their current weight. If you use a Love To Dream Swaddle UP that is too big for your baby the neckline could be too loose, which could potentially be dangerous.
If your baby’s legs touch the bottom of the Love To Dream Swaddle UP but the fit across the body is correct, then keep using this Swaddle UP™ It is not too short! The length of the bag has been specially designed to be a little shorter so that – as your baby grows – they can push against the bottom of the bag. This pushing action and feeling ’the ends’ of the bag contribute to further SELF-SOOTHING™.
A natural way babies settle themselves to sleep is by sucking on their hands or gently rubbing their cheeks. This is called SELF-SOOTHINGâ„¢. This hand sucking can also help develop mouth muscles which aid in feeding, speech development & their natural rooting reflex. Love To Dream Swaddle UPâ„¢ has been designed to allow babies to safely suck on their hands for SELF-SOOTHINGâ„¢. SELF-SOOTHING = MORE SLEEP
